Project Overview
CrowdTorch was a fast growing event ticketing startup focused on nightlife, music venues, comedy clubs, and live entertainment brands that needed a modern way to sell tickets online and on mobile. Originally launched as TicketMob, the company evolved into CrowdTorch before being acquired by Cvent, marking its transition from startup to enterprise scale.
The platform supported multiple verticals and offered end to end ticketing solutions for event organizers who often had no digital presence at all. Many clients came in without a website, mobile app, or brand identity. CrowdTorch provided not just ticketing technology, but a full digital foundation for promoters, clubs, and entertainment brands to launch and grow.
Being part of the early team meant building visual consistency from the ground up while helping shape how the company presented itself to clients, investors, and eventually to an acquiring enterprise organization.
My Contributions
As the first designer at the company, I helped establish the visual and experiential foundation of the brand during its startup phase. I worked across product, marketing, and client delivery, designing for both the internal platform and external customer experiences.
For clients without an existing digital presence, I designed complete solutions including websites, mobile app interfaces, ticket layouts, and foundational branding. I translated their event concepts into polished, conversion focused digital experiences that enabled them to sell tickets immediately and professionally.
Internally, I designed marketing decks, sales presentations, email campaigns, social media graphics, and trade show exhibit materials that supported business development and investor conversations. I helped shape the brand identity as the company evolved from TicketMob to CrowdTorch, maintaining visual consistency during rapid growth.
Contributing to a startup that scaled and was successfully acquired by Cvent was a defining experience. It required adaptability, speed, and strategic design thinking across multiple touchpoints. I was deeply involved in building not just visuals, but the design culture and brand presence that supported the company’s growth and acquisition journey.
